Varihesive gel control dressing with edge 15cm x 18cm

Indications

The dressing is indicated for:

• Vascular origin ulcers (venous and arterial);
• Pressure ulcers moderately exuding;
• Traumatic wounds;
• Acute and chronic wounds.

Characteristics

• The dressing is characterized by being sterile and self-adherent. It consists of 3 hydrocolloids, namely carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, pectin, and gelatine, and excipients impregnated in a matrix of polyisobutylene.
• It is coated with a polyurethane occlusive foam, with or without a hydrocolloid edge.
• The hydrocolloids, by absorbing the exudate from the lesion, will form a gel that constitutes an optimal means for the wound healing process.
• This dressing provides control of the exudate, not only due to its absorption capacity but also due to the formation of an occlusive chamber under the dressing. This chamber progressively accumulates exudate inside it, leading to increased pressure in this space.
• The pressure increases until it approaches the capillary pressure. Upon reaching this level, the production of more exudate is substantially reduced or inhibited.
• This dressing provides a moist microenvironment that cleans the lesion by promoting autolytic debridement, protects the wound by providing a barrier to bacteria and viruses, stimulates granulation, and promotes epithelialization.
• It also maximizes the patient's comfort as it decreases pain, facilitates palpation and removal of the dressing, and provides fewer dressing changes due to the great ability to control the exudate.
• The product is packaged in individual peel-open packs, each with 10 units.
