Spongostan-hemostatic sponge standard gelatine has a uniform porous structure, activating the thrombocytes as soon as the blood is absorbed by the gelatine sponge matrix.
It is absorbed 3 to 4 weeks. When applied to the skin or mucosa in gelling bleeding it is dissolved after 3 to 5 days.
