Sponge characteristics

• Spongostan-hemostatic sponge standard gelatine has a uniform porous structure, activating the thrombocytes as soon as the blood is absorbed by the gelatine sponge matrix.
• It is absorbed 3 to 4 weeks. When applied to the skin or mucosa in gelling bleeding it is dissolved after 3 to 5 days.
• It favors healing.
• When expelled naturally, it avoids the intervention of the nursing team.
• It does not cause a reaction of the tissues.
• It can be used as a vehicle for antibiotics or thrombin.
• It can be applied dry or after immersion in saline solution, making a firm pressure on the bleeding site.
• It is sterile and packed individually.
