Product features
- The colorless Polypropylene Prolene suture consists of a surgical, sterile and non-absorbable suture. It is supplied in the blue-dyed version, which has the function of enhancing visibility.
- Prolene sutures are available with several needles, including everpoint cardiovascular needles, and trigger a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in the tissues.
- The suture resists infections and in contaminated and infected wounds, eliminating or reducing fistula formation or even suture expulsion.
- They are for single-use and must be properly discarded after use.
Composition
- It is composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin.
Indications
- Suture threads are indicated for connections or approximations in smooth tissues in general, including cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures.
