Stiefel dermal curettes are ready for use, are sterilized with ethylene oxide and single use. They are available in Ø 4 and 7 mm, and the size of this specific product is equivalent to 4mm. The product is supplied in boxes with 10 units.
Two techniques are recommended for the use of curettes. Select the one that best suits the procedure you are going to perform.
This technique is used more frequently. - Stretch the skin with the fingers of the non-dominant hand. - Hold the curette with your thumb and index and middle fingers, placing the sharp side of the ring at the end of the lesion.
Due to the lower precision of this technique, it is more suitable for thick and hard skin. - Hold the curette with the help of the 4 fingers, in the space between the interphalangeal joints, placing it with the sharp side of the ring at the end of the lesion. - Use your thumbs to obtain a stable base. - Orient the curette carefully so that the tissue sample can be removed with a single incision.
