# Mode of Action
The product, when properly applied to a wound, provides a moist and suitable environment for the healing process.
How to Use
It is not advisable to use Biafine:
- In cases of allergy (hypersensitivity) to the active substance (trolamine) or to any other component of Biafine;
- In infected wounds or with bleeding;
- In case of skin rash (exanthema) related to medication or food allergy;
- In areas for harvesting grafts.
# Solar Erythema
- Biafine should be applied to the first signs of thick layer redness. The application should be done every ten minutes until it is refused by the skin, and should be forced, by gentle massage, the cutaneous penetration of the last layer applied.
- Continue to apply Biafine as previously described, 2 to 4 times a day, until the affected area cures completely.
Burns of the 1st degree
- Apply in thick layer until refused by the skin.
- Make the product penetrate with a light massage.
- Continue to apply Biafine as described above, 2 to 4 times a day, until the affected area heals completely.
Non-infected superficial skin wounds
- After a cleaning of the lesion, apply a thick layer, far exceeding the surface of the lesion. Applications should be renewed so as to always maintain an emulsion surplus over the lesion.
- Cover, if necessary, with a moistened dressing and finish the dressing.
- Do not use a dry absorbent pad.
- Reapply as described above every 24 to 48 hours until the wound or lesion has completely healed.
- Biafine can be removed with a wash with salt solution or clean water without causing damage to newly formed tissue.
# Composition
- The active substance is trolamine (6.7mg/g).
- The other components are: Ethyleneglycol stearate, stearic acid, cetyl palmitate, solid paraffin, light liquid paraffin, squalene, avocado oil, propylene glycol (E1520), trolamine sodium alginate, potassium sorbate, sodium methyl para-hydroxybenzoate (E217), sodium propyl para-hydroxybenzoate (E219), "Yerbatone" perfume and purified water.
