Product features

• The dressing is characterized by being flat and sterile.
• Relation between manuronic acid and calcium alginate 2/1 guluronic acid.
• Absorption of 28.08g of calcium chloride/sodium chloride solution per dressing.

Composition

• It is composed of fibers that contain 85% calcium alginate and 15% carboxymethyl cellulose, thus providing optimum performance in wound treatment in terms of compatibility, absorption and gel formation.

Advantages

• Vertical absorption, avoids maceration of the wound bed and increases the absorption capacity in cm²;
• Form a soft gel that can be removed at once;
• Does not adhere or leave residues in the wound bed, atraumatic change;
• Impermeable to bacteria and liquids, permeable to gas exchange;
• Adapts perfectly to the contours of the wound, because it is soft and flexible.

Contraindication

• It should not be used in surgical implants or third-degree burns;
• Not to be used simultaneously with topical agents, such as antiseptics and antibiotics;
• Askina® Sorb has few benefits when applied to dry or necrotic wounds.

Indication

The product is recommended for the treatment of wounds with or without infection, superficial or deep, containing tunnels and fistulas with moderate to high exudate, such as pressure ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, graft donor areas, wounds caused by trauma and dermal lesions.
