ALLEVYN Life® heater has an advanced layered design structure that combines a hydrocellular foam, between a contact layer with the perforated adhesive silicone gel wound, and an external waterproof and high permeability film.

ALLEVYN Life® incorporates a central mesh so that the exudate is not as visible. It contributes to a pressure relief protocol when used in association with pressure relief devices. The external film helps prevent bacterial contamination of the wound. The film is also waterproof, developed to assist people in their daily life by means of:

• The protective layer minimizes the visual impact of the checkered layer, providing confidence to the patient that the dressing will not attract other people's attention.
• Excellent fluid blocking under pressure.
• Ensures tranquility to the patient, preventing leaks.
• Multi-layer design provides cushioning and helps spread pressure.
• The silicone wound contact-coat offers minimal pain and discomfort on removal while allowing the dressing to be repositioned.
• Indicator change optimizes dressing change frequency and reduces waste.

Indications

• ALLEVYN Life® dressings are indicated for the treatment of second intention wounds in superficial, granulated wounds, chronic and acute exudative wounds, full and partial thickness wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, infected wounds, malignant wounds, surgical wounds, first and second degree burns, donor sites, lacerations, and fungal ulcers. - The dressing can be used in conjunction with IntraSite gel for necrotic or fibrin wounds.
• ALLEVYN Life® is suitable for use on fragile skin.

Precautions and warnings

• Do not use ALLEVYN Life® dressing with oxidizing agents, such as hypochlorite solutions (e.g. EUSOL) or hydrogen peroxide, as these can break down the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressing.
  
• If redness or sensitization occurs, use should be discontinued.
  
• Do not cut the dressing, as the internal components may contaminate the wound, leading to longer healing. The bacterial properties of the dressing will also be compromised, which can lead to infection.
  
• ALLEVYN Life® should not be used alone to provide pressure relief, but in conjunction with other devices for this purpose.
  
• THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDS ONLY USE of ALLEVYN Life® product and disposal after use.
• If used on more than one patient, cross-contamination or infection may occur.
  
• Opening the dressing cartridge compromises the sterile barrier, therefore any unused open dressing should not be kept for application at a later date.

Storage

• The product should be kept away from sunlight and humidity.
• Storage temperatures should be below 25°C.

Transportation

• It should be transported in its original packaging, kept away from sunlight and humidity.
• Temperatures in the storage place should be below 25°C.

Validity

• The product has a useful life of three years when stored at temperatures below 25° C.
