- Mepitel film is an effective wound contact layer. Mepitel can remain applied for up to 14 days, depending on the condition of the wound, which reduces the need to change the primary dressing frequently. The porous structure of Mepitel allows the exudate to pass into an outer absorbent dressing. The Safetac layer does not let the outer dressing stick to the wound and ensures atraumatic dressing changes. The Safetac layer seals around the edges of the wound, preventing the exudate from escaping into the surrounding skin, thus minimizing the risk of maceration.
